Challenges
The company ran two content properties, one for consumers and one for businesses, and both faced the same problem from different angles. The consumer hub was about two years old at the start of the engagement. Most of its traffic came from branded queries, leaving it with little authority on the financial topics that competing fintech publishers had spent years covering.
The business hub had the opposite issue. It carried strong domain authority but had expanded into broad business and marketing queries where it held little topical credibility. Both needed non-branded organic growth, stronger link velocity, and real authority on competitive financial pillars.
Doing that inside a global enterprise added constraints that shaped every decision. Fintech compliance rules required specific disclaimer language, and every piece moved through a legal review process that often ran multiple submission rounds.
Bottom-funnel content was off the table because competitors could not be mentioned. Statistics posts and digital PR campaigns were not approved either, closing off the tactics agencies normally reach for when link velocity is the goal. Growth had to come from editorial quality and addressing query intent alone, the same levers behind both the traffic and AI citation gains below.
Growth summary
Siege Media opened with keywords-by-opportunity analysis across both properties, splitting the roadmap between revamps of pages ranking below their potential and net-new articles targeting gaps the hubs had never covered.
Top-funnel and middle-funnel formats carried the weight given the bottom-funnel restriction, with definitional explainers, comparison posts, and step-by-step guides built to match the intent on each target SERP. Siege transcreated the content into markets across the UK, France, and Germany, running local keyword research for each market rather than translating the English pages outright, so each version was built around what people in that market actually search for.
A parallel UX design workstream designed and delivered components the hubs had been missing, including a sticky table of contents, breadcrumb navigation, quick answer boxes, and key takeaways modules.
Between March and December 2025, combined organic traffic across the two U.S. hubs grew 22%, from 103.9K to 126.3K monthly visits. The consumer hub carried most of that at 27% growth, while the business hub added 13%. The clearest attribution sits at the page level, where before-and-after performance on individual pieces is easiest to isolate.
Pages produced during the partnership
- A revamped B2B explainer on electronic checks went from 3.5K to 7.1K monthly visits and $9.3K to $17.6K in traffic value, finishing the year as the highest-traffic page on that hub.
- A net-new consumer guide to earning money from home reached 5.4K monthly visits and 937 ranking keywords from a standing start, becoming the highest-traffic page in its hub.
- A revamped consumer guide to peer-to-peer payments grew from 1.4K to 4.0K monthly visits and $2.3K to $6.0K in traffic value.
- A revamped B2B point-of-sale explainer climbed from 166 to 769 monthly visits, with traffic value moving from $434 to $2.1K.
Link velocity moved further than traffic did. Referring domains across both U.S. hubs grew from 2,569 to 6,392, a 149% increase, with the consumer hub climbing from 307 to 2,799. Visibility in AI search expanded over the same window.
According to Ahrefs, combined AI citations across the two U.S. hubs grew from 3,769 to 22,113, a 487% increase, and content produced during the partnership contributed a meaningful share of that growth, including 763 citations for the net-new guide to earning money from home.
By the end of the engagement, over 100 articles were live across four markets, spanning payments, money management, shopping, and business operations. The work shows what sustained editorial execution produces within tight compliance constraints, without the campaign tactics that most link programs depend on.
